Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, WFUV , the Engagement Coordinator helps to execute WFUV’s fundraising plan to secure the resources needed to sustain independent public radio and enrich our community. By providing administrative, committee, and event support to all fundraising activities, including special events, stewardship, and donor relations, this role is essential to growing the station’s philanthropic impact.
The position requires evening and weekend hours in addition to local travel.
Essential Functions
- Supports the planning and production of all fundraising events, appeals, campaigns and fundraising events, embodying the Jesuit value of magis by driving continuous improvement.
- Prepares for all Advisory Council and Community Advisory Board meetings in consultation with the General Manager and Executive Director of Development.
- Provides technical support, including designing assets for meetings, donation pages, emails, events and supporting materials; and refines proposals developed by the Executive Director.
- Supports all stewardship efforts, including oversight to ensure that gifts are reconciled with Development and University Relations’ CRM , Fordham Advance, and WFUV’s CRM , Allegiance.
- Researches prospects and event attendees for station leadership, including identifying prospects for major gifts, utilizing data and the practice of discernment to make thoughtful recommendations.
- Staffs all cultivation and fundraising events, oversees fulfillment, and ensures a positive donor experience by employing cura personalis (care for the whole person) and creating a welcoming environment for constituents of all backgrounds.
- Drafts communications, mailing lists, reports, thank you letters, emails, and pledge fulfillments; reconciles statements; and maintains current and accurate records, prioritizing care and gratitude in all communications.
- Supports the Executive Director of Development in overseeing the WFUV Advisory Council, including scheduling, meeting preparation and stewardship, and taking minutes.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Demonstrated competency in using G Suite and Microsoft Office applications, and an ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to proactively follow up as needed.
- Ability to interact respectfully, collegially, and effectively with a variety of constituencies, including leadership.
- Ability to approach issues with a solution-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with public radio and fundraising.
- Knowledge of email and marketing databases (CRMs) (Advance, Blackbaud, Allegiance, Constant Contact)
- Design experience.
