Job Summary

Reporting to the Campus Director of Admission (RH), the Associate Director for Campus Visitation recruits, reviews admission applications, and enrolls traditional first‑year full‑time undergraduate students. The position communicates information about the University experience to students, parents, counselors, and other influencers, and manages a recruiting territory with additional responsibilities around event planning and execution. Frequent travel and evening and weekend hours are required.

Essential Functions

  • Manage recruitment territory, review admissions applications, and enroll traditional first‑year undergraduate students.
  • Create and refine on‑campus and virtual event programming.
  • Execute events of varying complexity for visitor groups ranging from 20 to 4,000 participants.
  • Collaborate with campus visit team, student volunteer leads, and other University community members.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with team members and student volunteers.
  • Manage recruitment territory measured by qualitative and quantitative indicators such as:
  • Build relationships
  • Develop innovative travel/recruitment strategies
  • Manage volume independently
  • Review and analyze market‑based enrollment trends
  • Employ fiscal and time‑management efficiencies
  • Execute domestic travel for up to 4 weeks per cycle.
  • Develop nuanced knowledge of university systems, mission, academic programs, and admissions messaging.
  • Represent the Office of Admission at college panels and off‑campus events, and present at local, regional, or national conferences.
  • Perform duties related to reviewing and processing admission applications, including:
    • Meet reading benchmarks and adhere to holistic reading standards
    • Provide proactive customer service to families and students
    • Assist staff in meeting goals during critical periods
    • Be flexible and professional during high‑volume activities
    • Apply solid critical‑thinking and decision‑making skills
    • Prioritise admission goals within the context of University and office‑wide strategic plans
    • Communicate effectively (verbal, written) in individual and group presentations (5‑100+ people)
    • Participate in staff meetings and retreats

    Management Responsibilities

    • Coordinate tasks, clarify priorities, and review work for quality or consistency for peers and student part‑time workers.

    Additional Functions

    • Represent the Office of Admission at college panels and special off‑campus events; present at local, regional, or national conferences; actively participate in staff meetings and retreats.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum of 4 years of admission or counseling experience
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
    • Public speaking skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to travel locally and nationally
    • Valid driver’s license

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree
    • Event management experience
    • Knowledge of Fordham and/or experience in higher education
    • Familiarity with Technolutions SLATE or a similar admissions CRM
    • Advanced quantitative and analytical acumen
    • Ability to read and synthesise information quickly for a high volume of application data

    Salaries

    Minimum Starting Salary: $85,000 Maximum Starting Salary: $90,000 (salary commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.)
