Student Community and Wellbeing Coordinator (Live-In)

Fordham University London is seeking to appoint an appropriate candidate, ideally with Study Abroad experience.

Position Summary

The Student Community and Wellbeing Coordinator is a key role dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaged student environment at Fordham University London.

Reporting to the Student Life Manager, this position focuses on building a coherent approach to student health and wellbeing, and acts as a bridge for students with their local communities.

The Coordinator serves as a vital resource for students, facilitating community engagement, organising local outreach events, and coordinating wellbeing initiatives to enhance the overall student experience.

This is a 12 month fixed term full time position.

To enable you to carry out your duties, you are provided with accommodation in University residential housing as a Service Occupancy for single use.

Allocation of the accommodation will be made by the University and may be subject to change.

The bills applicable to this will be met by the University, including electricity, gas, water, internet access, and Council Tax.

Essential Functions

  • Support the implementation of community engagement opportunities and organise activities designed to connect students with local London neighborhoods and partners.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, providing guidance on health insurance, medical concerns, and directing them to appropriate internal or external resources.
  • Coordinate events and activities which engage partner (non-Fordham) students and provide signposting to students unfamiliar with the support services and processes at Fordham.
  • Assist the Student Life Manager in the end-to-end planning, promotion, and delivery of a comprehensive programme portfolio, including diverse social events and cultural activities.
  • Provide operational support for complex programme trips and weekend excursions across the UK and Europe, assisting with itineraries, transportation, and on-site event delivery.
  • In liaison with the Student Mental Health Counsellor and Student Life Manager, coordinate health and wellbeing initiatives and events tailored to the study abroad population.
  • Design and distribute promotional materials, such as posters and digital assets, and assist in managing Fordham London’s social media presence to drive student engagement.
  • Coordinate regular surveys and feedback touchpoints to measure student satisfaction and the impact of community, wellbeing, and student life programming.
  • Additional Functions
  • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with Fordham London protocols, ensuring student safety and prioritising well-being.
  • Assist in maintaining the Fordham London Google site and other digital platforms as a key resource for student operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding community partnerships, student participation in activities, and wellbeing records.
  • Provide support for student recruitment and orientation activities as needed to welcome new cohorts.
  • Support the Student Life Manager in overseeing Fordham London merchandise, including stocking and developing new products.
  • Commit to working evening and weekend hours as required to support the delivery of trips and large-scale student events.

Additional pay may be applicable for some activities in accordance with relevant HR policies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in student support, event coordination, or community outreach roles is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act with empathy and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail in both administrative tasks and event planning. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to manage student information systems.
