Fordham University London is seeking to appoint an adjunct professor for a level three course in Accounting for the Fall/Autumn semester – starting on 7 September 2026 and concluding on 18 December with a study break on 26-30 October 2026. The course is concerned with how information is derived and used for internal purposes and covers cost accounting, planning and control, and decision making. By the end of the course, students should have an understanding of how costs associated with products and services are both derived and used in decision-making. In addition, students should have an understanding of budgets and how they are used in planning and control. They will also become familiar with other topics relevant to the area of management accounting.
Successful candidates must be experienced and effective teachers, able to cater for the diverse student body and engage students in the subject matter so that they are fully prepared for their journey through the bachelor degree. Teaching is in weekly three hour blocks. In Fall 2026, one section will be offered and it will be taught on Wednesday mornings (10am-1pm).
Context: Fordham University London delivers undergraduate study abroad programming for approximately 600 students each year from Fordham University’s School of Arts & Sciences and the Gabelli School of Business.
Main Duties- Teaching Principles of Managerial Accounting
- Preparation of teaching materials for the course
- Providing updated syllabus and course pack/reader details by the required deadline
- Providing academic advising either face-to-face or by email
- Arranging/accompanying students on co-curricular trips, and inviting guest speakers where appropriate
- Setting and administering examinations and other assessments – setting examination questions, invigilation and marking when required
- Attendance at academic staff meetings (up to two per semester)
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
- Relevant teaching experience in higher education and proven teaching effectiveness
- Excellent communication skills and responsive to students and the administration
- PhD in a relevant field (or nearing completion)
- Previous experience of teaching within US higher education
- Research experience, publications and interests in the subject area

SalaryStarting salary £4,878.02 per section plus pension contribution if eligible (based upon 2025-2026 rates. 2026-2027 rates to be determined). The position will remain open until filled.
