Forde Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a busy timber manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in furniture, timber products, woodworking machinery, or manufacturing maintenance who are looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.
The Role
You will be responsible for keeping production machinery running efficiently through planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs, helping to minimise downtime across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnose faults and repair manufacturing machinery
- Develop and improve maintenance schedules
- Maintain maintenance records and spare parts stock
- Support continuous improvement projects
- Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
- Promote and follow Health & Safety procedures at all times
Machinery Experience (Desirable)
- Saws
- Edge banders
- CNC machinery
- Timber processing equipment
What We're Looking For
- Previous maintenance experience within timber, furniture, or manufacturing
- Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
- Proactive and reliable approach to maintenance work
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8am - 4pm
Friday: 8am - 3pm
