Forde Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Forge Operative for a busy heavy engineering and forging operation in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in forging, heavy manufacturing, forge operations, or industrial production environments looking for a long-term role with progression opportunities.
The Role
You will be responsible for operating and supporting heavy press and forging machinery, ensuring products meet strict quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating 5600T press machinery
- Supporting forging and furnace operations
- Operating the Andromat system
- Performing pyrometry and quality checks
- Working on trim, punch, and knockdown operations
- Building dies and tooling for 600T & 1500T presses
- Carrying out visual and dimensional inspections
- Completing preventative maintenance checks
- Following all Health & Safety and quality procedures
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards (5S)
