Forde Recruitment, a leading provider of industrial staff in South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, is seeking an experienced Press Operative in Sheffield.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe and responsible manner and within FSG procedures for own and other people’s safety.
- Ensure all Quality procedures and processes are followed.
- Pre-shift checks as specified; for example: FLT, Hoist, Crane, etc.
- Housekeeping (5S duties).
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks.
- Operate 5600T press and supporting roles within the cell which include:
- Operate the Andromat.
- Control room (furnace and forge management).
- Pyrometry checks.
- Carry out visual and dimensional checks on forgings and hard mark with identification.
- Working 1500T knockdown / trim and punch operations.
- Building dies and tooling for 600T and 1500T presses.
- Ensure furnaces are loaded correctly with control plans completed.
Experience, Skills and Competencies:
- Experience of working in a forging/pressing environment would be beneficial.
- Must be flexible, willing to work across different roles and shift patterns.
- Familiar with computer control systems.
- Worked in a medium to heavy factory environment.
- Have worked in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Team player.
- Ability to understand / interpret drawings and use measuring equipment (training can be given).
- Organised and methodical approach to each task.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Must be able to work effectively without constant supervision.
- Ambition to progress.
Rate: £14.50 - £17.70 | Hours: 37.5
