Forde Recruitment, the leading provider of engineering staff within South Yorkshire, are currently seeking an experienced, ideally CNC Machinist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visual inspection of components.
  • Work from P-Techs and Work instructions.
  • Recording of results on Microsoft Excel.
  • Use of callipers and Verniers for measuring purposes.
  • Rejection of batches if they don't meet quality expectations.
  • Load programs into CNC machine and execute program to accurately machine parts to meet customer specifications.
  • Verify conformance of machined work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Complete essential documentation such as route cards & Inspection sheets as required.
  • Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts to safely transport product.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all Health & Safety rules are adhered to, and a safe environment is maintained.
  • Demonstrate understanding and adherence to the internal planning system (GYRO).
  • Drive a quality, right first time approach.
  • Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Maintaining good timekeeping and attendance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A high level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, computer literacy and good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proven experience operating both CNC and manual equipment.
  • Experience using callipers and Verniers is an advantage.
  • Inspection experience within manufacturing would be an advantage.

SHIFTS: Days and Afternoons

Salary: circ. £40k to £45k (dependent upon shift pattern and experience)
