Forde Recruitment, a leading provider of industrial staff in South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will come from a furniture or timber product manufacturing background and possess strong mechanical expertise, supported by a working knowledge of electrical systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of our machinery and ensuring minimal downtime across production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all machinery and equipment
  • Develop and implement structured maintenance programs
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on timber manufacturing machinery
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
  • Catalogue spare parts and manage stock levels of consumables
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
  • Participate actively as a member of the Health & Safety Team
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and best practices

Equipment Experience (Desirable)

  • Saws
  • Edge banders
  • CNC machines
  • Other timber processing and manufacturing equipment

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within timber, furniture, or related manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving

Hours 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3pm on Friday.
