Forde Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a busy timber manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in furniture, timber products, woodworking machinery, or manufacturing maintenance who are looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.

The Role

You will be responsible for keeping production machinery running efficiently through planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs, helping to minimise downtime across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Diagnose faults and repair manufacturing machinery
  • Develop and improve maintenance schedules
  • Maintain maintenance records and spare parts stock
  • Support continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
  • Promote and follow Health & Safety procedures at all times

Machinery Experience (Desirable)

  • Saws
  • Edge banders
  • CNC machinery
  • Timber processing equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous maintenance experience within timber, furniture, or manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
  • Proactive and reliable approach to maintenance work

Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8am - 4pm
Friday: 8am - 3pm
