Forde Recruitment, the leading provider of industrial workers within South Yorkshire, are currently seeking an experienced production and warehouse supervisor. The role involves maintaining and improving standards of efficiency, effectiveness and quality in the Corrugated Shop and Warehouse and Distribution, as well as improving communication between all other operations functions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Maintain, co-ordinate and improve working practices within the factory / warehouse, subject to performance measures regarding waste and efficiency.
- Work to lean manufacturing systems and KPIs.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the factory, investigating any non-conformances and implementing corrective action.
- Manage the Production Operative team and Drivers ensuring attendance and conduct are in line with company policy.
- Manage the delivery schedule to ensure customer deliveries are managed to expectations.
- Manage driver and factory resource effectively.
- Assist in the training and monitoring of new staff and the continued education, training and development of the Production Operative team.
- Liaise with other Managers to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Company.
- Carry out opening and closing routines within your department in conjunction with the other key holding staff.
- Full responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of H& S practices in the Production/Warehouse/Distribution Department.
- Ensure production schedule is adhered to and is managed throughout the day.
- Ensure minimal machinery downtime, identify and address any factors causing unplanned downtime.
- Ensure internal and external maintenance programmes are adhered to.
- Meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Work efficiently and effectively under own initiative.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving License.
- Counterbalance FLT License.
- Must be prepared to travel between sites so own transport is essential.
