Forde Recruitment is hiring an experienced FLT Driver for a busy structural steel operation in Scunthorpe. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity for someone confident working in a heavy industrial steel environment using forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes.
Responsibilities
- Loading & unloading structural steel from flatbeds
- Operating: 12t & 15t Forklift Trucks
- Overhead Cranes (OHC)
- 10t Side Loader
- Moving, storing, and securing steel stock safely
- Handling wide loads and heavy materials
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Following strict Health & Safety procedures at all times
What We're Looking For
- Experience in steel or heavy industrial environments (essential)
- Confident operating FLT, side loader, and overhead crane equipment
- Strong understanding of safe lifting, loading, and weight distribution
- Experience with slinging / heavy material handling
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently
Ideal Experience
- 2+ years in steel handling or similar heavy industry
- FLT / OHC / Side Loader certification or proven experience
- Previous experience loading/unloading wide or abnormal loads
Pay: £14.42 per hour
Hours: Mon-Fri, 07:30-16:30
