Location: Calne, Wiltshire

Rates: £16.00 per hour PAYE

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (40 Hours)

Contract Length: 12 Months with a view to going Permanent

We are recruiting a Junior Field Service Engineer to join a rapidly growing engineering organisation supporting some of the UK's most important rail infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone either early in their electrical career or someone just starting their career who wants to progress into a specialist field-based engineering role. Over the first 12 months, you'll receive comprehensive training designed to develop you into a skilled electrically biased HVAC and Rail infrastructure Engineer, giving you valuable niche skills that are highly sought after within the industry.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with installation and commissioning activities
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults
  • Supporting planned and reactive maintenance works
  • Interpreting and working from engineering drawings and schematics
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK
  • Working closely with senior engineers to develop your technical expertise

The Ideal Candidate

You will be newly qualified and have a strong electrical mindset, who is keen to carry on their learning. We are looking for someone with:

  • Knowledge of 3 phase Electrical systems, DC Control Units and Basic understanding of PLC systems (Desirable)
  • Confident in reading and following electrical engineering drawings

You must live within a 30-minute radius of Calne.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven electrical fault-finding experience
  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical engineering
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to pass a medical, drug & alcohol screening
