The Role

We are currently seeking a Hydraulic Fitter to join our team at Burton-Upon-Trent. This is a hands‑on role focused on carrying out servicing, overhauls and associated mechanical repairs on hydraulic components within rail. You will work as part of a skilled team, delivering high‑quality mechanical work safely, efficiently and in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mandatory servicing and mechanical repairs on hydraulic pumps and rail vehicle systems and components.
  • Complete fault finding down to component levels.
  • Install, maintain and repair hydraulic pumps, motors and hydraulic components.
  • Carry out quality inspections to all of the assembly stages.

Essential

  • Proven experience in a mechanical fitting, pumps or hydraulic maintenance or overhaul environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and component repair.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Commitment to safe working practices.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within the rail or automotive industry.
  • Experience working on large sub‑assembly overhaul activities.
