About the Opportunity
Ford & Stanley Interim are working with a leading engineering and technology group to recruit a highly experienced EC&I Engineer to operate at group level. This is a key role with a strong focus on compliance, governance, and technical assurance.

As the technical authority for Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I), you’ll provide oversight, assurance, and sign-off on critical engineering deliverables across the organisation.
The Role
You’ll act as the group’s EC&I technical authority, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. This is a strategic yet hands-on position where your expertise will shape engineering governance and technical assurance across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the group’s EC&I technical authority, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Lead the development and enforcement of EC&I engineering policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Review, approve, and sign off on technical documentation, designs, and safety-critical systems.
- Provide expert guidance and assurance across EC&I activities, including audits and technical reviews.
- Support project teams with high-level technical input and ensure consistent application of best practices.
Candidate Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional recognition.
- SC clearance (or the ability to obtain it).
- Extensive experience in EC&I engineering within regulated, safety-critical environments.
- Strong background in compliance, governance, and technical assurance.
- Proven ability to review and sign off on complex engineering work with confidence and authority.
- Deep understanding of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61508, BS EN 60204, PUWER, ATEX).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
