We’re looking for a Service & Technical Advising Specialist to join our expert team in Leeds, supporting the performance and reliability of our Powerhaul diesel-electric locomotives. Ideal for Technicians looking to step into an advising role where training is provided.
This is more than just a job, it’s a chance to become a certified subject matter expert through world-class training at our facility, where you’ll gain deep knowledge in electrical diagnostics, engine maintenance, and technical support.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance during locomotive maintenance activities.
- Work closely with customer production teams, offering expert advice on troubleshooting, tooling, and locomotive status.
- Analyse performance data to help improve reliability and uptime.
- Travel within the UK as needed to support operational requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (preferably electrical).
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with large diesel engines and diagnostic tools (e.g. multimeter, megger).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- A background in rolling stock or locomotive maintenance is highly desirable.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
