The Opportunity
Ford & Stanley Talentwise are recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team at SEA LIFE London Aquarium.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands on Facilities Maintenance Engineer to use their skills somewhere completely different, maintaining the critical systems that keep one of London’s most recognisable attractions running.
You’ll work across a varied range of equipment including large pumps, motors, fish life support systems, mechanical plant, electrical systems, PLC controls, HVAC, chillers and air handling units.
You do not need previous aquarium experience. We’re interested in engineers from manufacturing, industrial, facilities, building services, utilities, water or other hands on maintenance environments.
Salary & Shifts
£46,196 per annum
Earlies: 08:00 to 16:00
Lates: 12:00 to 20:00
Weekends: One weekend per month, with the Friday before and Monday after as days off.
Role & Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical equipment
- Maintenance and repair of large pumps and life support systems
- Mechanical and electrical fault finding
- PLC fault finding and diagnostics
- Maintenance of HVAC, chillers and air handling units
- General facilities maintenance and repairs
- Responding to breakdowns and identifying root causes of faults
The Candidate
We’re looking for a practical, hands on Facilities Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault finding, fixing equipment and solving problems.
You could currently be working as a Facilities Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, M&E Engineer, Building Services Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer, Pump Engineer or Engineering Technician.
Essential
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in an engineering capacity
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience
- Electrical fault finding ability
- Planned and reactive maintenance experience
- Experience working with mechanical plant and equipment
- A strong approach to safety and reliability
- Experience with pumps, motors, PLCs, HVAC, chillers or fluid systems would be advantageous.
