This is an exciting opportunity to join a major rail programme, supporting HVAC systems on modern rolling stock. This role offers strong stability in the contract market and the chance to build valuable experience within the rail sector.
Working as part of the service and maintenance function, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining HVAC systems on trains and within depot environments. This is a hands-on role where you will work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team on live operational sites. The role will also involve full strip-down, rebuild, and reinstallation of HVAC units, including brazing, re-gassing, and system testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Removal of HVAC units from rolling stock for overhaul
- Strip-down of units including de-gassing refrigerant systems
- Rebuild and reassembly including brazing of copper pipework
- Re-gassing of systems and leak testing
- Reinstallation and functional testing of HVAC units
- Repair and replacement of refrigeration pipework and components
- In-date F-Gas certification (essential)
- In-date Brazing certification (essential)
- Experience in service, maintenance, fault finding, or overhaul environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience with refrigerant systems, pipework, and system rebuilds
- Full UK driving licence
- HVAC engineers with F-Gas and brazing certifications
