Materials Controller Salary: £22.63 per hour (Umbrella) Hours: Monday – Friday, Days (37.5 hours per week) + Overtime Contract: Contract, until end of September 2026  Location: Stockport  The Opportunity A fantastic opportunity to join a world‑renowned rolling stock manufacturer, supporting their materials and logistics operation at a key site in Southampton. We are looking for an IT‑literate, detail‑driven Materials Controller who can confidently operate and update MS Excel‑based systems and quickly learn a bespoke internal platform (training provided). You will play a crucial role in managing stock levels, coordinating parts availability, and ensuring technicians receive the components they need on time to keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Manage and process repairable materials and all related shipping documentation Coordinate logistics with suppliers, contractors, and the local depot Maintain material logs and update internal systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail Support compliance with all HSQE standards in line with other Materials Controllers Monitor stock levels and ensure timely distribution of parts to technical teams Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Materials Controller, Stock Controller, or similar role ideally gained in a heavy engineering setting.
