Location: Colwick TMD, Victoria Retail Park, Netherfield, Nottingham, NG4 2PE

Salary: 52,000 per annum + overtime

Working Hours: 40 hours per week (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Shift Pattern: Monday Thursday or Tuesday Friday, 07:00 17:00

Holiday: 28 days annual leave

About Us: Boden Rail Engineering Ltd is an established diesel locomotive maintenance depot based at Colwick TMD. We specialise in servicing, maintenance, heavy engineering, and full overhauls of Class 37, Class 56, and Class 60 locomotives. We are now looking to recruit an experienced Locomotive Engineer to join our team, with a strong background in servicing, maintenance, and overhauls particularly on Class 60 Mirrlees traction systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out locomotive servicing including A, B, and F exams
  • Perform safety-critical work in line with industry standards
  • Brake re-blocking and maintenance
  • Bogie and power unit refurbishments
  • Fault finding and diagnostics
  • Load banking operations
  • Pressure washing of locomotives
  • Assist with lifting, fitting, and removal of components
  • Operate overhead cranes safely
  • Carry out bodywork and structural repairs
  • Record all work undertaken, including completion of block cards and maintenance documentation

General Depot Duties

  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment
  • Support stock and inventory management
  • Promote and follow health and safety regulations
