Engine Builder – Rail Industry

Temporary to Permanent

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm

We are currently recruiting Engine Builders to support rail industry operations based in Burton-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-quality engineering environment, carrying out the strip-down, rebuild and assembly of rail engine components, while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

You will join a supportive and skilled engineering team, committed to excellence, continuous improvement, and safe working practices within the rail sector.

As an Engine Builder, your duties will include:

  • Stripping and rebuilding mechanical engine components in line with work instructions
  • Working accurately to OEM manuals and technical documentation
  • Reading and interpreting assembly specifications to plan and complete build activities
  • Disposing of waste materials correctly and responsibly
  • Reporting failures, faults, near misses, hazards, accidents, or incidents within the same shift
  • Ensuring full compliance with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and HR policies
  • Following company policies and procedures at all times
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality standards
  • Relevant experience within the rail, automotive, or similar engineering industry
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly, engine building, or related engineering disciplines
