Job Title: PSV Shift Technician Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire Salary: £25.00 per hour + Overtime Available Due to continued growth and investment in its fleet, Thames Travel is looking to recruit an experienced PSV Shift Technician to join the engineering team at its Didcot depot. What's on Offer? £25.00 per hour Monday to Friday £28.75 per hour weekends 40-hour working week with regular overtime available Monday to Friday Late Shift: 14:30 - 00:00 Annual pay review currently in progress 28 days holiday including bank holidays Buy and sell holiday scheme Free and discounted travel across the company network Company sick pay following qualifying period Annual loyalty bonus following qualifying period Ongoing in-house technical training and development Long-term career opportunities within a growing transport group The Role Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of passenger vehicles, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability and availability are achieved. Key responsibilities include: Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance Mechanical and electrical fault finding Diagnostic testing and repairs Maintenance and repair of DAF and Cummins-powered vehicles Defect rectification and breakdown response MOT preparation and safety inspections Supporting fleet reliability and operational performance Ensuring all work is completed in line with company and DVSA standards About You To be considered, you will ideally possess the following: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair - Essential Experience gained within PSV, HGV, coach, military, commercial vehicle or similar heavy vehicle environments Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Experience working on DAF and Cummins engines would be highly advantageous Good understanding of electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics High Voltage (HV) awareness/qualification desirable Air Conditioning (AC) experience desirable Able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment Committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards Whether you're currently maintaining buses, coaches, trucks, military vehicles or commercial fleets, this role offers an excellent opportunity to join an employer that invests in its people and provides ongoing training, career development and long-term job security.
