The Opportunity
If you’re looking for a high-impact project role where your decisions genuinely shape how a major engineering operation performs, this is the kind of opportunity that rarely comes around. This role sits at the centre of a large-scale transformation and investment programme. You’ll gain early exposure to how the current site operates before playing a key role in helping stand up and stabilise a new, modern manufacturing facility. It’s a chance to take real ownership, influence operational direction, and build long-term credibility in a business that is consolidating, growing, and modernising.
The environment is fast-paced, customer-intensive, and operationally complex. You’ll balance structured programme ownership with day-to-day delivery control, working across multiple customers, product variants, and internal functions to keep performance on track.
Project Manager Responsibilities
- Customer & Stakeholder Leadership — Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and consistent delivery performance.
- High-Volume Coordination — Managing a broad mix of product variants and overseeing high weekly throughput across a busy engineering operation.
- Programme Ownership — Taking responsibility from contract award through mobilisation and into long-term delivery, maintaining control of scope, risk, and commercial considerations.
- Production Flow Control — Overseeing day-to-day production flow, forward planning, and issue resolution to keep delivery on track.
- Cross-Functional Influence — Working closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain operational stability.
- Governance & Reporting — Embedding structured project governance where required, ensuring disciplined reporting, risk management, and decision-making.
- Operational Transition Support — Supporting the move into a new, modernised facility and helping embed stable processes, performance expectations, and delivery rhythms.
- Pressure & Issue Management — Handling demanding situations effectively, pushing back when needed, and maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach.
Ideal Project Manager
- Project Management Experience — Background in project, programme, account, or business unit management within engineering, manufacturing, or high-volume environments.
- Customer Management Strength — Confident managing multiple customers or stakeholders simultaneously with clarity and control.
- Fast-Paced Delivery Mindset — Comfortable operating in a high-pressure, high-volume setting with constantly shifting priorities.
- Influence Without Authority — Skilled at driving actions across teams who do not report directly to them.
- Governance Discipline — Able to operate within structured project frameworks and maintain control of scope, cost, and risk where required.
- Technical Awareness — Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, enabling effective engagement with technical teams.
- Resilience & Assertiveness — Able to maintain composure, push back appropriately, and keep delivery moving in challenging situations.
