Shift Patterns / Hours:
- Days: Monday to Thursday 7AM-4PM, Friday 7AM-1PM
- Shifts: Monday to Thursday 6AM-3PM or 2PM-11PM, Friday 6AM-11AM or 2PM-7PM
Contract Length: 6 months +
Location: Newport, Wales
Key Role and Responsibilities:
- The Assembly Operative is a member of a team responsible for carrying out various assembly procedures, including fitting components across Mechanical tasks within a Production environment to achieve the fully built vehicle.
- Follows specifications and other appropriate instructions and/or procedures to accurately assemble components on a train using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Carry out lean production activities.
- Record and report faults to relevant areas of production.
- Ensure all records (manual and digital) are completed correctly and on time.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to new surroundings. You will have a background in heavy engineering and a Mechanical skillset.
Essentials:
- Ability to read and work to Mechanical Drawings.
- High attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks well.
- Able to use a variety of machines and hand tools.
- Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge and experience in promoting safe working practices in a safety-critical workplace.
- Able to maintain accurate records.
Desirables:
- NVQ Level 3 or relevant professional experience.
