With over 50 years of heritage, the business combines specialist franchised distribution with UK-based manufacturing of film and mica capacitors. Their customers span military, aerospace, high-end industrial, test & measurement, rail, automotive, and semiconductor sectors. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will manage and grow relationships across an established customer base while identifying new design‑in opportunities. This position blends engineering understanding with commercial drive and suits:
- A Sales Engineer from a component distributor, OEM, or specialist manufacturer
- A technically strong engineer (component level) seeking a first step into a customer-facing commercial role
You will act as a trusted technical partner, helping customers define, specify, and select components across a broad product portfolio, supported by internal sales, product specialists, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships across an established Northern customer base
- Identify, qualify, and secure new design‑in opportunities
- Provide technical guidance on component selection, specifications, and trade‑offs
- Collaborate with internal technical, product, and sales teams to deliver customer solutions
- Represent the business professionally across military, aerospace, industrial, rail, and related markets
- Maintain accurate activity reporting and contribute to sales forecasting
- Uphold the company’s reputation for responsiveness, engineering knowledge, and long‑term partnership

- Hard Skills
- Strong understanding of electronic components at the component level, ideally passive components (capacitors, resistors, electromechanical devices)
- Ability to discuss applications, specifications, and technical trade-offs with engineers
- Ideally 3 years in a technical or engineering role
- Experience with supplier brands aligned to the company’s franchised lines
- Background in component distribution, PEMCO, aerospace/defence, or industrial electronics
- Customer‑facing experience beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote role
Location & Working Pattern
Remote working covering the North: Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and as far south as Stoke‑on‑Trent, Monday to Friday.
Package
- Base salary: £45,000 – £60,000 (flexibility for exceptional candidates)
- Bonus up to 20% at 100% target, increasing in 10% increments for overperformance
- Mileage allowance (pool car available during probation if required)
- Outstanding pension: 8% company contribution, rising annually to 12%
