Ford & Stanley are seeking an experienced Buyer to support day‑to‑day procurement activities at a Burton based depot during a period of increased operational demand. This role ensures continuity of supply and stable operational performance within a fast‑paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily purchasing of materials, components, and services.
- Raise, track, and expedite purchase orders to meet production schedules.
- Maintain stock levels and support planning teams with material availability updates.
- Act as the main point of contact for allocated suppliers, monitoring performance and resolving issues.
- Support cost‑saving initiatives and alternative sourcing options.
- Collaborate with production, planning, engineering, and quality teams to resolve supply constraints.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems and produce basic procurement reports.
Skills & Experience
- Purchasing or supply chain experience within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, or rail.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and supplier management capability.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment with changing priorities.
- ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Understanding of commercial procurement principles.
