Description:
This person will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and modernizing technical training across multiple projects.
- Creating user-friendly, digital training packages from existing technical documentation.
- Acting as a conduit between the shop floor and training development—gathering real-world issues and turning them into training content.
- Standardizing training materials and approaches across projects.
- Liaising with project specialists to ensure training is relevant and solution-focused.
- Supporting the integration of new technologies (e.g., tri‑mode trains, hybrid vehicles) into training programs.
What experience and skills does the candidate need?
- Training Development: Ability to create training packages from scratch, not just repurpose existing materials.
- Modern Training Methods: Comfortable with digital and interactive training tools (e.g., Articulate 360), moving away from traditional PowerPoint‑heavy approaches.
- Technical Background: Railway experience is preferred, but candidates from other technical sectors (ex‑forces, engineering, marine, aircraft) are valued for their transferable skills. Will consider options outside of this should the candidate have a strong approach to modern training methods (Not PowerPoint).
- Be a creative training professional who can develop content from scratch and isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo.
