Category Manager Southport (Hybrid) – GBP50,000 + Car Allowance

The Situation

Ford and Stanley are partnered with the UK s leading part supplier to the railway industry, with deep expertise across Infrastructure, Traction, and Rolling Stock.

Working out of one of their manufacturing sites, they are seeking a Category Manager to develop and execute category strategies that maximise value and drive competitive advantage across direct and/or indirect materials and strategically lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives.

The Opportunity

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a strategically minded procurement professional to work in one of the UK\’s most respected organisations in a high-impact sector
  • You will get to take full ownership of your own Category (s), seeking to maximise its efficiency & profitability
  • You will make autonomous decisions on future strategies, managing an annual spent of c.GBP5m.
  • You will have a high degree of involvement in making major improvements to the supply chain and be key in drastically improving supplier relations and consolidating the supply chain.

Location

  • Southport Hybrid working (3 days in office p/week)

Salary

  • GBP50,000 + GBP3,6000 car allowance (GBP300p/month)

Essential Experience

  • Experienced procurement professional
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • CIPS qualification / working towards
  • SAP knowledge/awareness preferred
