Buyer| Shirebrook | up to £45,000 | Onsite The Opportunity: To ensure the effective sourcing and expediting of all materials to support the wider business and to support the Supply Chain & Procurement team in the co-ordination of all material requirements in accordance with the company’s management system and industry standards. Key responsibilities: Procurement of direct and indirect materials and services with a special focus on manufacturing / engineering based categories Establish a clear procurement strategy for critical spend areas in line with Group direction Engage early with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the best products are sourced for all projects Lead contractual negotiations with vendors and establish framework agreements / service level agreements where required Develop long term partnerships with suppliers and improve supplier performance, working closely with other functions Cost management – track material markets to support inflationary and cost reduction discussions Introduce cost saving solutions and report progress monthly Support the business with ad hoc and project work as required Any other duties as required Candidate Requirements: Buying experience in a manufacturing/engineering setting. Good understanding of market conditions Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage with critical stakeholders. Confidence and a “want to win” attitude. Basic ability to read Engineering drawings to understand the materials required. Previous experience in leading contractual negotiations with vendors and establishing framework agreements/service level agreements. Must be able to demonstrate how/when they have done this previously.
