Buyer | Up To Β£45,000 | Abercynon The Opportunity Joining the business at a time of growth through successfully winning new, long-term contracts, this role will operate with support but also a large degree of autonomy and trust to complete their work. This work will include completing day-to-day purchasing tasks to short turnaround times, as well as working on long-term supply chain improvement directives. Location: Abercynon Role and Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining assigned supplier relations by selecting suppliers and negotiating prices for material and/or services required Analyse, negotiate and report supplier price changes Conduct periodic commodity surveys to obtain price comparisons; evaluate market trends to develop new services and create cost savings Identify potential problem areas and recommend changes The Candidate The type of candidate that will succeed in this role can smoothly shift between performing day-to-day buying tasks and strategic development activities, and being recognised for getting the job done.
