Due to continued growth, we currently have an exciting opening for you to join our highly skilled and collaborative team as a Supplier Operations Engineer in our fantastic DAF Fleet Services organisation in Devizes. We are part of one of the largest and most respected DAF dealer groups in Europe and DAF are the largest truck manufacturer in the UK with record growth and award winning trucks year on year. We offer our clients bespoke Fleet Management Solutions to improve their operations and allow them to focus on their business requirements.

As a Supplier Operations Engineer, we can offer you:

  • Base salary of £36,500 - £38,750 (depending on your industry experience)
  • Quarterly bonus of up to £1,500 providing the opportunity to earn an additional £6,000 per annum based on you and your team's performance
  • Excellent DAF Fleet Maintenance Engineer & development opportunities – in house and manufacturer’s in addition to Ford & Slater courses and technical exposure
  • 22 days holiday (plus statutory), rising to 25 days after 5 years service

Who are we looking for as a Supplier Operations Engineer:

  • Ideally, you will have the following skills / experience but training will be provided:
  • HGV Technical Qualification, Level 3 or above
  • Experience of Fleet Management or the Commercial Vehicle / Automotive sector would be a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Automotive / Commercial Vehicle background or a hands on Technician looking to move out of the Workshop.
  • A proven track record of providing outstanding customer service.
  • Have a can do attitude and enjoy troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
  • A high level of IT literacy and comfortable on the phone and using email.
  • Be organised, resilient and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

The Supplier Operations Engineer role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • You will also have day to day responsibility for ensuring that maintenance costs are controlled and reviewed in line with any warranty periods, previous repairs and are aligned with any current manufacturer guidelines.
  • Through ongoing communication and technical reviews you will build and enhance supplier relationships to help progress and resolve any maintenance or technical queries.
  • The role will also require the collation of non-contract costs which will involve a collegial approach with the customer and supplier to ensure the customer is supported with any individual repairs, whilst also giving support to understand any areas of spend or specific cost trends that could be minimised.

Working Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.
