Due to an internal promotion and business growth, we currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Management Accountant in our finance team at our Leicester Head Office. Ford and Slater are one of the UK’s largest DAF Truck dealer groups with 16 locations from Norwich to Birtley in the North East, employing over 900 staff whilst remaining a family run business.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, we can offer you:

  • A salary of up to £27,000 (depending on experience as an Assistant Management Accountant / Finance experience)

Who are we looking for as an Assistant Management Accountant:

  • Ideally you will have previous experience working as an Assistant Management Accountant or in a similar Accounting / Finance role (such as Assistant Accountant, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control)
  • Part qualified or qualified AAT, or want to study towards AAT qualification.
  • Finance experience within the Automotive sector would be beneficial but not essential
  • A team player with an exceptional eye for detail
  • Excellent IT and communication skills (Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills)
  • PC Literate
  • Ability to work under pressure to specific deadlines via good time management

The Assistant Management Accountant responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Preparation of Management Accounts for Depots across the Ford & Slater network.
  • Assisting in the development of various Finance projects.
  • Analysis / Coding of Sales and Purchase Invoices / Credits.
  • Calculating and posting Journals.
  • Preparation of annual audit work for the auditors.
  • Assist with preparation of Annual Statutory Accounts.
  • Ad hoc work as requested by Management.

Office based, Monday to Friday at our Leicester Head Office, 8:45am – 4:30pm.
