As an MP&L Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our transformation, playing a crucial role in optimising our complex global supply chain and ensuring the seamless flow of materials.

Qualifications

To excel as an MP&L Specialist, you will need a combination of the following:

  • A Keen Interest in Supply Chain Management & Logistics: An eagerness to understand and optimise the flow of materials in a complex, global manufacturing environment.
  • Problem‑Solving Mindset: A \”can‑do, find‑a‑way\” attitude to solving operational challenges and improving efficiency.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Team Player: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Curiosity & Adaptability: A genuine curiosity about the transforming automotive business and a desire to continuously learn and adapt.
  • Analytical Aptitude: The ability to analyse data and processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A degree level or similar qualification that includes a module of supply chain.
  • Or degree level or similar with material planning and logistics / supply chain experience.

This position is based in Dunton, Essex and it is expected the successful candidate will be able to attend the Dunton office for typically 4 days a week and remain flexible on the days they are required to attend the office according to business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • You will be an integral part of MP&L teams transitioning to adopt new processes, cutting‑edge systems, and a forward‑thinking mindset fit for the next century.
  • Our MP&L departments are rapidly modernising for a new world, as the European automotive industry shifts from traditional internal combustion engines to multiple forms of Hybrid systems and full battery‑powered electric vehicles. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating this evolution.
  • Your scope will include manufacturing planning, constraints management (both manufacturing and external supply base), product definition, and inbound and outbound logistics covering a vast global supply base and manufacturing facilities.
  • You’ll collaborate extensively with multiple organisations within Ford, including Purchase, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, and Finance, providing insights that influence strategic decisions.
  • This role is perfect for individuals with a \”can‑do\” attitude, eager to analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for change, and drive improvements. Strong communication skills are essential to convey your findings.
  • We continuously leverage advanced tools and technologies through strategic partnerships, enabling us to unlock new insights and capitalise on emerging opportunities across our operations.
  • On-the-job training will primarily take place at the Ford Dunton Campus, Essex, and will inevitably include trips to our manufacturing sites across the UK, and potentially even Europe!
