At Ford Motor Company, we\’re not just building vehicles; we\’re revolutionising mobility and shaping a better world for everyone. Fuelled by exciting new challenges and a vision for the future, we\’re transforming our manufacturing facilities and pivoting towards an incredible new range of products, from cutting-edge electric vehicles to innovative mobility solutions.

To support these ambitious plans, we\’re searching for bright, enthusiastic graduates to join the Ford family within our Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) and Supply Chain teams. If you\’re ready to make a real impact and help us drive into the next century, this is your opportunity!

This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical work experience using world-class technologies and processes, while developing an exciting new range of skills on both Ford-unique and industry-standard systems. As an MP&L Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our transformation, playing a crucial role in optimising our complex global supply chain and ensuring the seamless flow of materials.

Responsibilities

  • You will be an integral part of MP&L teams transitioning to adopt new processes, cutting-edge systems, and a forward-thinking mindset fit for the next century.
  • Our MP&L departments are rapidly modernising for a new world, as the European automotive industry shifts from traditional internal combustion engines to multiple forms of Hybrid systems and full battery-powered electric vehicles. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating this evolution.
  • Your scope will include manufacturing planning, constraints management (both manufacturing and external supply base), product definition, and inbound and outbound logistics covering a vast global supply base and manufacturing facilities.
  • You\’ll collaborate extensively with multiple organisations within Ford, including Purchase, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, and Finance, providing insights that influence strategic decisions.
  • This role is perfect for individuals with a \”can-do\” attitude, eager to analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for change, and drive improvements. Strong communication skills are essential to convey your findings.
  • We continuously leverage advanced tools and technologies through strategic partnerships, enabling us to unlock new insights and capitalise on emerging opportunities across our operations.
  • On-the-job training will primarily take place at the Ford Dunton Campus, Essex, and will inevitably include trips to our manufacturing sites across the UK, and potentially even Europe!

Qualifications

To excel as an MP&L Specialist, you will need a combination of the following:

  • A Keen Interest in Supply Chain Management & Logistics: An eagerness to understand and optimise the flow of materials in a complex, global manufacturing environment.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A \”can-do, find-a-way\” attitude to solving operational challenges and improving efficiency.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Team Player: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Curiosity & Adaptability: A genuine curiosity about the transforming automotive business and a desire to continuously learn and adapt.
  • Analytical Aptitude: The ability to analyse data and processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A degree level or similar qualification that includes a module of supply chain.
  • Or degree level or similar with material planning and logistics / supply chain experience.

The Company is committed to diversity and equality of opportunity for all and is opposed to any form of less favorable treatment or harassment on the grounds of race, religion or belief, sex, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability.
