This role is about establishing, growing, and leading Engineering Excellence at Ford Credit. Qualifications
What We\’re Looking For

- 4+ years in enterprise software engineering with Java, Python, or similar.
- 3+ years in engineering operations, process improvement, or related fields.
- Experience leading or building engineering operations is a plus but not mandatory.
- A proven track record of process improvements, technology implementation, and driving change.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and vendors.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Curiosity and passion for problem-solving and strategy optimization.
- Experience in matrixed team environments and influencing across product areas.
- Drive to learn and adopt new technologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
As Head of EU Engineering Excellence, you will drive the creation of a highly efficient engineering organization. You will collaborate closely with engineering leadership, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Product Operations to align on best practices and workflows. Your key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing, streamlining, and automating engineering processes, including delivery cycles and planning.
- Designing and implementing reporting mechanisms to monitor progress and identify improvements.
- Championing new ways of working within the engineering organization.
- Coordinating the software release process towards continuous delivery.
- Ensuring alignment of goals (OKRs), strategies, and priorities across teams.
- Establishing and tracking KPIs across teams.
- Owning the engineering effectiveness technology roadmap and stack, aligned with company strategy.
- Empowering teams with tools and technologies to enhance productivity and collaboration.
- Developing training programs for tool adoption and utilization.
People Development
- Supporting leadership in fostering continuous learning and development.
- Implementing skills frameworks and development programs for engineers and managers.
- Training team members in improved delivery methods.
Insights & Reporting
- Developing dashboards and reports to provide data-driven insights to engineering teams.
The Team
You will be part of a passionate, collaborative team at Ford Credit, reporting to the CTO – Europe. Your work will involve close collaboration with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders. You will work at least two days a week in our Dunton, Essex office, with occasional visits to offices in Spain and Germany.
