The Compliance and Controls Specialist is responsible for managing all risk and control activity within the First Line of Defence. The role works closely with governance, data protection, and risk oversight teams to ensure the organisation meets regulatory, corporate compliance, and industry requirements. The position also oversees compliance-related processes for the UK Dealer Network.

Responsibilities

  • Assess identified risks and escalated to the RCC-FC and Exec ORRC where appropriate.
  • Owns the review and maintenance of the location's risk register and RC.
  • Supports MBC with complaint monitoring, vulnerable customer reviews, ensuring Dealer conduct is being escalated, owned and responded to by the Sales teams.
  • Coordinate Annual Controls testing cycle, Basic Control File, Asset Logs and associated control-focused processes.
  • Coordinate completion of periodic FLA membership requests.
  • Coordinate FCB annual AFR submission including Iron Mountain.
  • Understand and communicate changes to FCE/FOB procedures ensuring FCB implementation in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Lead OIC and GAO Comment and Corrective Action for all Core FCB Functions – Sales, Marketing, Risk and Finance.
  • Manage Ford of Britain Dealer Network changes (dealer terminations, acquisitions, buyouts, CMA mergers and new dealer set-ups), implementing and refining processes to provide a smooth transition for dealers and customer portfolios.
  • Manage, maintain and issue UK dealer agreements and schedules – working with the Sales and Legal teams to update agreements and schedules as required and distribute to the dealer network.
  • Manage performance, developmental and training requirements for team members and dealers, including oversight of SAF accreditation.
  • Coordinate dealer system set-up and onboarding of users where required in FCB systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Understanding risk management and passion for compliance and control matters.
  • Knowledge of UK regulations as well as FCE and Ford Corporate Compliance Control requirements.
  • Demonstrated Ford+ behaviour and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to problem-solve and adapt to business needs.
  • Ability to forward plan and prioritise workstreams.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of an effective team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at different levels according to the business audience.
  • Aptitude for controls, a quality mind-set and excellent attention to detail.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to identify emerging controls requirements proactively.
  • Ability to question current processes, identify and drive business cases for change.
  • Good working knowledge of the UK automotive industry and automotive finance industry.
  • Working knowledge of Ford Credit operational processes and systems.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Sales/operational experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
  • Experience of establishing and developing a close working relationship with NSC colleagues.
  • Experience using Alteryx/Data manipulation or ability to learn new tools quickly.

Location

This position is based in Dunton, and it is expected the successful candidate will be able to attend the Dunton Campus for typically 4 days a week and remain flexible on the days they are required to attend the office according to business requirements.
