Ford Fuels is a family run fuel, lubricant and AdBlue distribution business supplying both commercial and domestic customers. An opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time Depot Manager working out of our Bow Depot. The role is to manage and ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Bow Depot and warehouse. You will be responsible for ensuring high customer service levels are met. You will work with the central management team to ensure that Company policy is implemented and followed.
Your normal working week will be 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am to 12:00pm Saturdays on a rota basis. Additional hours may be required in busy periods. You must be flexible and willing to work hours as required for the proper completion of your duties. You will also act as a nominated Transport Manager of the O licence with responsibility for the vehicles based at Bow.

Role Overview:
- Ensure that Bow Depot operations run smoothly and efficiently
- Ensure that property, plant, equipment, and facilities at the depot are maintained correctly, are in good working order, and are kept in a clean and tidy condition
- Promote a high level of customer service and ensure that customers delivery requirements are met
- Handle customer problems and complaints in a timely manner
- Resolve driver related and vehicle issues including road traffic incidents, breakdowns and delivery issues
- Ensure adequate stock levels of fuel, lubricants and other products are kept at all times
- Assist in unloading incoming deliveries and organising stock for the warehouse
- Provide customers with fuel prices via phone and email
- Communicate and collaborate with other depots regarding resources, deadlines, and scheduling whilst meeting customer demands
- Ensure office and administration tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure weekly Health and Safety and security checks are completed
- Carry out investigations in relation to accidents, incidents or near misses
Transport Management/Compliance responsibilities:
- Oversee all vehicles, drivers, and equipment under your control
- Report vehicle defects, organise vehicle repairs and scheduled maintenance as per the guidance set out by the Operations Director or the Compliance team
- Ensure drivers hours are monitored and utilised
- Oversee delivery routing and ensure cover for any holidays
- Ensure the Company security policy is adhered to in relation to vehicles and drivers
- Ensure the depot complies with Company transport policies and legal compliance requirements
Line Management responsibilities:
- Recruit, induct, and train new team members
- Ensure that probationary periods are managed effectively, performance is on track, and any concerns are addressed within that period
- Ensure your direct reports complete daily tasks and fulfil their individual responsibilities
- Motivate, coach and ensure ongoing development of team members
- Carry out regular reviews and direct reports
- Carry out return to work interviews following absence or sickness
- Ensure good communication within the team and the wider Company
- Ensure that all team members comply with Company policy including Health and Safety, HR, Compliance and IT policies
- Encourage equality, diversity, and dignity at work at all times
About you:
- Relevant operators CPC qualification
- Proven experience within a previous management role
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to delegate tasks and ensure completion in an accurate and timely manner
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Must be IT literate and be prepared to lead upcoming change projects and the adoption of new technologies
- Able to work under pressure
- A thorough geographical knowledge of the depot delivery area, and an understanding of the wide Company trading area
- A good understanding of transport and logistics
- Good numerical ability
