Full‑time, permanent.
Salary
Unqualified: Base salary £27,519.96, potential total up to £32,919.96.
Qualified (Level 5 Diploma or equivalent): Base salary £28,128.36, potential total up to £33,528.36.
Hours
39 hours per week – shift pattern with sleep‑in duties required around a flexible rota.
Responsibilities
- Complete key domestic duties to maintain a homely environment.
- Encourage young people’s development by planning, organising and participating in activities.
- Safeguard and protect each young person in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018; assess needs and contribute to care and risk plans.
- Establish positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Manage behaviour positively and assertively as specified by care and risk management plans.
- Consult with young people to promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Motivate and assist young people in developing positive networks with adults, peers and families.
- Participate in the development, implementation and review of care packages through team meetings and supervision.
- Attend child care reviews and, where necessary, advocate for the Young Person.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Commitment to a 24/7 role, including weekends and bank holidays; undertake sleep‑in duties as part of a flexible rota.
- Experience supporting vulnerable young people.
- Self‑initiative and high accuracy in record keeping.
- Good interpersonal skills and a positive team player.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Daily record completion to meet statutory and policy requirements.
- Empathetic nature and strong oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people.
