The Manager, Industrial Hygiene role protects the health and wellbeing of employees across all company operations. This experienced professional leads the implementation and management of comprehensive industrial hygiene (IH) programs that anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control workplace hazards. Working closely with Health and Safety leadership and cross‐functional partners, the role ensures compliance with applicable occupational health regulations and company standards, provides expert guidance on exposure risks, and drives continuous improvement to promote a safe and healthy working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Industrial Hygiene Program Leadership: Design, administer and execute comprehensive IH programs across the region to assess and manage employee exposure to workplace hazards. Ensure alignment with regional IH regulations, company standards and best practices.
  • Exposure Assessment & Risk Control: Conduct and interpret exposure assessments using established analytical methods. Recommend and verify appropriate engineering, administrative, or PPE controls to reduce risks to acceptable levels.
  • Incident Investigation & Mitigation: Support investigations into incidents involving potential exposure to hazardous substances. Provide corrective and preventive action recommendations and collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Strategic Projects: Lead IH process improvement projects as directed by the Global Director, applying robust stakeholder analysis and evaluating alternatives to drive long-term improvements.
  • Third‐Party & Stakeholder Management: Manage external consultants performing quantitative IH assessments—developing sampling plans, reviewing proposals, scheduling work and managing budgets. Serve as a key liaison to Environmental, Safety, Medical and other internal departments.
  • Standards & Policy Development: Lead the creation and review of regional IH standards and procedures, ensuring alignment with global requirements. Contribute to the development and review of global IH, environmental and safety standards.
  • Data Integrity & Reporting: Maintain accurate, confidential IH records including exposure assessments, air monitoring data, hazardous materials information, incident records and training documentation. Prepare reports, analyze trends and provide expert recommendations for senior review.
  • Financial Responsibility: Develop and oversee regional IH budgets, monitor performance against plan and adjust strategies when required.

Qualifications

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Established experience within Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations relevant to the region.
  • Excellent written communication, data analysis and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in an additional language is an advantage.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Chartered Occupational Hygienist (CMFOH), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent recognised professional credential.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in industrial hygiene, environmental health, safety, engineering or a related scientific discipline.
