A global leader in supplying biomedical equipment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, validate, calibrate and service a broad range of products and equipment in the commercial sector. The Field Service Engineer must be qualified in technical subjects and hold a clean and current UK driving licence. They should also have proven experience working to deadlines, good practical skills, and excellent communication and customer service skills. Additionally, you will need to be flexible when it comes to travel arrangements. You will be covering the whole of the UK, but the majority of your work will be in the South/Midlands areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the project management team on the preparation and delivery of complex monitoring installations, often across multiple departments, sites and sometimes regions
  • Provide service to external or internal customers by giving advice via the telephone and/or visiting the customer
  • Carry out regular maintenance schedules for each piece of equipment and maintain spare stock
  • Perform calibrations, IQOQ and temperature mapping
  • Working with the service department to deal with monitoring system faults as they occur by telephone or face to face as required, following service level agreements and processes
  • Provide monitoring expertise to the sales team and client as required
  • Promote the full portfolio of products and service offerings when attending customer sites
  • Complete all necessary paperwork – calibration certificates, service reports, IQ, OQ, PQ Documentation
  • Provide recommendations to the service manager on changes for cost savings and performance improvements

This role requires flexibility and may include working away from home for short periods

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Good practical skills and a common-sense approach
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development, including staying current with relevant certifications and qualifications
  • Full UK driving license required
  • Is flexible regarding travel and able to work away from home for short periods

Desirable:

  • Experience working on instrumentation in a life science or healthcare setting
  • Experience in monitoring equipment and software

Salary:

£30,000 to £35,000 DOE

Benefits:
