Overview
A specialist defence solutions provider is seeking a Security Controller to support the 24/7 operations of protecting a key site in the Middle East. The Security Controller will monitor and control actions of a defence system that provides an operational view of real time threats in the vicinity. The Security Controller must have worked within a hostile environment, be flexible to work shift rotations, and able to handle pressure. The position ideally requires direct experience in the military, in radar operations or an operations room.
Key Responsibilities
- Using systems to monitor predefined airspace for potential aerial threats proactively
- Perform dynamic searches driven from visual sightings of potential threats
- Analyse and assess potential drone threats, determining the level of risk, validity, and appropriate response measures
- Coordinate with Security Liaison Teams in response to drone-related threats
- Implement countermeasures including RF jamming to neutralise drone threats
- Maintain detailed records of events, drone detections, incidents, and responses for analysis and reporting purposes
- Adhere to local and international security regulations
- To resolve, configure, operate, and troubleshoot various IT and security tools
- Proactively monitor software and hardware and report any issues to support desk and manage customer-facing communications
- Represent the Company on site and be responsible for producing regular reporting and insight for your employer
- Train & upskill local security forces regarding some systems situated within certain contexts
Shifts
4 weeks overseas on shift (12-hour shifts daily (day or night) whilst in country on shift), 1 week overseas or UK head office and 3 weeks off.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications
Essential:
- Strong security operations experience
- Experience working within hostile environments
- Is flexible to work the above shift rotation
- Is resilient, professional, calm under pressure, and has strong attention to detail
- Have excellent communication, decision-making, and IT skills
Desirables:
- A military background, especially with experience in radar operations
- Previous experience of working within an Operations Room on a shift rotation
- Relatable IT & Technical qualifications and experience
- Experience in detection and countermeasure technologies
- Current SC or DV clearance
- Current SIA CCTV licence
