A defence solutions provider is seeking a Simulator Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support, ensuring the ongoing operation of simulator training equipment and carrying out maintenance and support. The Simulator Maintenance Engineer will have previous experience fault-finding, installation, commissioning, and maintaining equipment requiring multi-skilled engineering (electrical and mechanical). In addition, has proficiency in IT, be able to work under pressure and good customer service skills. Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- First-line troubleshooting and fault resolution with the ability to work autonomously as required
- Responsible for fault finding, maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning of simulation equipment
- Responsible for carrying out software, hardware, and basic network configuration
- Assess equipment performance so that it is available and ready for use
- Perform pre- and post-use simulator checks
- Complete technical reports and review technical data and drawings
- Excellent communication and administration skills, both written and verbal
- Comply with H&S guidelines at Company and customer site premises
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Working knowledge and experience of electrical and mechanical systems
- The ability to work under pressure and comply with strict timelines
- IT skills with proficiency in MS Teams and Office
- Good customer service skills
Desirable:
- CompTIA
- Forklift or MEWP
Salary: £36,400
