A multi-award-winning self-storage company is seeking an Operations Assistant to ensure company sites and customer relationships are maintained to a high standard. The Operations Assistant will need to have proven Operations experience, be able to handle customer inquiries, and have excellent communication and organisational skills. In addition, the Operations Assistant will need to be proactive, work well with others, think on their feet, and have strong IT skills. Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check facilities and ensure they are clean and maintained to company standards.
- Check storage units and ensure every vacant unit is in good condition to be rented out.
- Organise maintenance and repair work around the facility when required.
- Liaise and regularly communicate with the security team to ensure sites are secure and safe.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the accounts and marketing teams.
- Maintain effective and accurate updates to company software and other operational apps.
- Manage packaging supplies for customers to purchase at each site.
- Ensure that each customer is treated with a first-class service, even when dealing with challenging situations.
- Must be prepared to multitask across all locations and be able to make sensible decisions that may affect the business.
- Check emails for overnight correspondence from existing and potential new customers.
- Resolve customers' issues effectively and confidently, addressing any customer problems by email, phone calls or in person.
- Return calls and arrange viewings of storage units when required.
- Cover for the Operations Manager when on leave.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:
- Previous experience in an Operations role with the ability to diagnose key issues and respond effectively.
- Have a positive attitude and can communicate clearly and politely with colleagues and customers.
- Be able to think on your feet.
- Is organised, efficient and a proactive self-starter.
- Ability to work as a team and on one's own initiative.
- Good IT skills.
- Be presentable.
Salary: Circa £35,000
Benefits: Performance-related bonus.
