An estate based in Scotland is seeking a Live-in Caretaker to do caretaking, DIY, and basic vehicle maintenance duties. The Caretaker will be adaptable and flexible while also exercising privacy and discretion. In addition the Caretaker will have a combination of basic DIY skills, site security knowledge, basic vehicle maintenance skills. The Caretaker will also be friendly, have previously worked in a service-led environment, and be highly professional. Accommodation is provided with bills paid, additional details provided below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Some internal and external maintenance, repairs and painting etc.
  • Attending to fires, heating systems and alarms
  • General site security - Taking appropriate action in the main building in the event of an emergency, fire/security officer
  • Some driving and light maintenance of vehicles
  • Routine inspections of buildings and grounds (carpark/tearoom/garden)
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge, including an ability to work safely at height
  • Winter/Spring cleaning
  • Occasional butler duties
  • Help with site functions
  • Maintaining private apartments in pristine condition at all times
  • Helping at Family and site events

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Basic DIY skills
  • Knowledge of site security (emergency procedures, fire alarms, etc.)
  • Basic vehicle maintenance
  • Able to work at heights

Hours:Wednesday to Sunday – 08:00 to 17:00 (18:00 in busy summer months)

Salary: £30,000

Benefits: Accommodation rent free – includes Council Tax, gas/electricity and phone bills; Christmas bonus; 22 + 10½ Bank Holidays (flexibility needed in busy summer months); pension; overtime paid time in lieu
