A specialist health and safety company is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to inspect customer sites and develop and maintain company systems. The Health and Safety Officer will have worked in a similar role or environment. In addition, the Health and Safety Officer will have a strong awareness of relevant legislation, have experience with a range of ISO standards, and possess strong communication, relationship-building, and time-management skills. Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site inspections UK-wide
- Review and record subcontract competencies
- Review and maintain relevant safe systems of work and current processes and procedures
- Set up online inductions
- Audit field engineers and report any observations and advise on improvement opportunities
- Audit and update RAMS
- Maintain training records
- Collate and record evidence for third-party audits
- Assist with any internal training admin
- Support and work with various departments on engagement strategy
- Be active in company H&S meetings
Knowledge, skills and qualifications required
- Previous experience working in health and safety in a construction environment
- Strong awareness of H&S legislation
- Excellent communication, IT, relationship building, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business
- Have an understanding and have worked with ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 standards
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
