A family-fun and customer-focused fresh food provider is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to carry out site maintenance and manage building services systems. The Multi-Skilled Engineer will have minimum qualifications to HNC or equivalent and have previous experience in multi-skilled engineering. In addition, the Multi-Skilled Engineer will have a range of experience and knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering and good communication and time management skills. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of all operational equipment, whilst maintaining safe working practices, responding to issues in a timely manner.
- Responsible for reactive breakdown repairs and adhering to the schedule.
- Fault diagnosis and repair of a wide variety of Electrical and Mechanical Systems, including Inverter Drives, PLCs, PSUs, Conveyors, Multi-head weighers, check weighers, flow wrappers, over-wrapping machines, gas flush machines and all other associated systems.
- Carry out routine maintenance on all plant and services whilst maintaining accurate record keeping.
- Assist in the management of Health and Safety, Environmental and Company policies in compliance with current regulations and legislation.
- Assist in current and future projects, including the introduction of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Carry out any other reasonable request from the employer.
Knowledge, skills and qualifications
- Essential Minimum qualifications to HNC or equivalent.
- Previous experience in multi-skilled engineering.
- Have knowledge and ability to fault-find electrical systems and control circuits, and is qualified to 17/18th wiring regulations.
- Previous experience programming and fault-finding on PLCs and other logic systems.
- Able to fabricate, weld, motor repairs, gearbox repairs and plumbing.
- Experienced working with 3-phase electrical systems, DC control circuits and safety circuits.
- Ability to read both mechanical and electrical schematic drawings to component level.
- Good communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Able to work without supervision, proactive, logical, and IT literate.
- Comfortable working at heights and in chilled environments.
- Be able to work shifts and/or weekends as required.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within an FMCG or similar fast-paced facility, who can manage multiple tasks.
- MEWP Trained, FLT Trained, IOSH/NEBOSH Certified, Food Safety.
- Working knowledge and operation of all building services systems, including refrigeration, fire alarm, fire sprinkler systems, air handling systems, air conditioning and computerised Building Management System.
Salary: £46,500
Benefits: Pension (3-5% matched), 25+8 holidays.
