The Senior Manager, Network Reliability will lead our Network Reliability Engineering function, serving as the technical and strategic focal point for Forcepoint Cloud’s network infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of BGP routing within a service provider framework and familiarity with state-of-the-art network equipment, primarily Juniper and Arista switches and routers. The Senior Manager will be delivering SaaS-based network infrastructure, actively supporting a diverse suite of products, including SASE, SWG, Next-Generation Firewall, and Email security solutions.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead a 24*7 globally distributed team of Network Reliability Engineers responsible for network architecture and operations.
- Lead the design and implementation of a reliable, secure and hyper-scalable network infrastructure to support 5 9’s availability of our core products.
- Introduce software engineering methodology to network operations, promoting code-driven approach to network management.
- Ensure in-depth monitoring of Forcepoint’s network guaranteeing optimal performance and reliability, and ability to quickly diagnose root cause of problems.
- Partner closely with Forcepoint’s Security organization to continually secure Forcepoint’s network by overseeing verticals such as DDOS, Intrusion Detection & Prevention, Next Generational Firewall.
- Act as a mentor for the network reliability team, advocating for continuous learning, innovation and establishing a customer-first mindset.
- Act as a Product Owner for the Network Reliability team, charting requirements and ensuring that team’s roadmap aligns with Forcepoint’s Product strategy.
- Partner with peers across the Site Reliability Engineering organisation, and contribute to Data Center evolution, and other strategic initiatives.
- Build and sustain vendor relationships with Internet Service Providers, hardware vendor and third-party service providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Substantial experience in network operations, with a significant time in a leadership role.
- Experience of working with Agile Framework.
- Profound experience with Juniper and Arista switches and routers.
- Proficiency in Linux, Next-Generation Firewall, load balancing, GSLB, and DNS frameworks.
- A robust understanding of 5 9’s SLA system designs.
- Exceptional organizational and project management acumen.
- Superb interpersonal and communication talents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications, e.g., Juniper Networks Certification Program or Arista Certified Engineering Expert.
- Experience within a high-growth or startup ambiance.
- Prior exposure running security services as a service.
