About the Company

Force Recruitment are working closely with a well-established multi-utility and civil engineering contractor with a rapidly growing presence in the Extra High Voltage (EHV) sector. With a strong pipeline of major HV cabling projects, they are looking to expand their commercial team and bring on an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of EHV and HV cabling projects, ensuring accurate cost control, financial reporting, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to support the successful delivery of technically complex, high-value schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing commercial activities across EHV/HV cabling projects
  • Preparing and reviewing budgets, cost plans, valuations, and variations
  • NEC contract administration and negotiation
  • Overseeing subcontractor procurement, applications, and final accounts
  • Conducting site visits and monitoring project progress
  • Preparing cost/value reconciliations and forecast reports
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and contractual obligations
  • Identifying risks and opportunities to improve commercial outcomes

About You

  • Proven Quantity Surveying experience within EHV, HV cabling, or power/energy infrastructure projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (preferred/essential depending on need)
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills
  • Confident in negotiation and stakeholder management
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work independently
