Force Contracting Services are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kilmarnock.
The project is due to commence in mid-September 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 2 years, with a significant civil engineering package.
The successful candidate will have a strong civil engineering background, relevant experience working on BESS sites, and be confident managing day-to-day site operations.

- All associated civil works required to provide a complete and operational BESS site
Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations, coordinating subcontractors, site teams, labour, plant and materials.
- Plan and sequence construction activities, monitoring progress against the programme and working closely with the Project Manager and Site Engineers.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with RAMS, drawings, specifications and required quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship, resolve construction issues and maintain accurate site records and progress reports.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety throughout the works, supporting completion, snagging and handover.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, with relevant experience working on BESS sites.
- Strong understanding of civil construction, including earthworks, drainage, roads and concrete works.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid; relevant construction or engineering qualification preferred.
