Since their inception in 2000, our client has led the change in revolutionising the world of inspection machines and artificial intelligence vision system products. Operating from the UK, they have expanded their reach to serve customers across the globe, earning a well-deserved reputation for innovation, unmatched quality, and precision in the realm of machine vision systems for inspection, guidance and identification. They are now looking for an experienced Sales Manager who can work effectively as part of an experienced and focused sales team. This senior role is pivotal in driving sales performance, managing the sales team and external reps, and working closely with engineering and marketing to deliver compelling solutions to customers under the guidance of the Sales & Marketing Director.

Please note this role is fully on-site, so suitable applicants must be willing to commute to Harwell, Didcot, Monday to Friday.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the internal sales team and external sales representatives to achieve defined quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Oversee inbound and warm leads generated through marketing, ensuring timely qualification and follow-up.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to develop detailed technical proposals and compelling sales presentations.
  • Drive proactive outreach to potential customers across multiple channels (calls, email, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Build and maintain existing accounts of the global customer base.
  • Engage with prospects across different sectors and geographies, understanding their challenges and effectively communicating the value products can provide.
  • Qualify leads and assess their suitability for products or services.
  • Carry out meetings or demos with qualified prospects.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads and interactions in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align lead-generation efforts.
  • Continuously update your knowledge of products and industry trends.
  • Provide feedback to improve lead generation and qualification processes.
  • Assist in the development of sales scripts and outreach strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of sales collateral and materials.
  • Attend industry events or trade shows to network and identify potential leads.
  • Support the sales team in achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Previous Experience/Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, customer management, or lead generation in a highly technical discipline.
  • Educated to degree level preferably in an Engineering, Business or Marketing discipline (2.1 or above).
  • Proficient in customer relationship management (CRM) software (preferably Salesforce) and sales tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Goal-oriented mindset and a desire to meet and exceed targets.
  • A logical approach to problem-solving and strong negotiation abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of machine vision.
Additional Information:

Please note this is a full-time, permanent role working fully on-site, Monday to Friday. 25 days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays. Company Health Insurance.
